Rim of the World High School.

WHO THIS IS FOR
For the Entire Community!
The Summer Showcase is designed for current Students (grades 5–12) who want to showcase their conducting and flourishing skills in front of their peers in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
It’s also for former SAML student leaders (Adults 18+) who want to reconnect with the community, participate in performances, and support the next generation of musical leaders.
No prior SAML participation is required to attend. This is open to all Student Leaders and Alumni!
WHAT TO EXPECT
From fun activities to the final cut-off, here’s what the day will look like:
⭐ LIVE PERFORMANCES
Watch and participate in conducting and flourishing performances across multiple categories — no pressure, all pride.
👥 COMMUNITY CONNECTION
Meet fellow student leaders from other schools and reconnect with SAML alumni who've walked the same path.
🎉 GAMES & ACTIVITIES
In between performances, enjoy fun group games and activities designed to build camaraderie among students and alumni.
❤️ NON-COMPETITIVE SPIRIT
This is a celebration, not a competition. Every performer is here to grow, share, and cheer each other on.

FAQs
What time should I arrive?
All participants should prepare to arrive at 8:45am
What music is allowed?
Students (grades 5-12): Standard SAML Music Selection Guidelines must be followed. See our Flourishing Guidelines and Conducting Guidelines for more information regarding Music Selection.
Adults (18+): Any music with clean, non-explicit lyrics.
How much time do I have for my Conducting performance?
All conductors have a total of 3 minutes to perform.
How many performances can I register for?
Your registration includes up to 3 performances. You can choose any combination from the available categories: Conducting, Traditional "I", SAML "T-Pattern", or Scottish Heat.
What is the Dress Code?
Students (grades 5-12): band shirt or SAML Shirt, jeans, and comfortable shoes. Uniforms are not required for the Summer Showcase.
Adults (18+): T-Shirt, jeans, and comfortable shoes.
Can I do an Avant Garde performance?
All: Only 2026 Avant Garde participants will be permitted to do an Avant Garde performance.
Did I have to compete with SAML previously to join Summer Showcase?
No! Summer Showcase is open to anyone who is currenlty or was previously involved in the Drum Majoring arts. Everyone is welcome!
